FTN was born out of the absurdity of wasted human potential. As a former high school teacher, I was sitting in a staff meeting where fifteen adults debated the colour of flowchart boxes and whether kids should leave a classroom walking or running. I shit you not.

That was the moment it hit me: humanity is burning daylight on the meaning of fucking boxes while the world outside is crying out for actual ideas, actual voices, actual creativity. And it’s not just schools, it’s everywhere.

If you’re an author or a storyteller today, you’re told the only way to be heard is to become a dancing algorithm monkey on social media. Pump out content, chase likes, grind for attention - all while your real work, your stories, the things that could actually enhance society, sit ignored. It’s the same broken cycle: endless noise, no substance.

FTN exists to cut through that. To say: enough.

Authors shouldn’t have to waste their lives playing games for visibility. You should be able to promote yourself, share your stories, and do it with pride, authenticity, and clarity. No gimmicks, no bullshit. Just the platform you deserve. That’s what we’re building here. A place for the storytellers who are tired of being silenced by noise.

The unwanted and inauthentic public dance being grudgingly performed by authors around the world is simply not sustainable. And it's not a dance of creativity or genesis, it's a dance for relevance. While our great works sit unread, we force ourselves to become social media slaves, like monkeys dancing for an algorithm's attention. "See us!" we scream, yet all we hear in return is the vacuum.

It is no longer enough to create worlds and characters that live in people's minds for years after the words ceased to flow and the pages ceased to turn. It seems no longer enough to invite someone into your imagination and ask them to sit back and enjoy the ride.

Now we are forced to post, to record, to manipulate forum rules and algorithmic tendencies, to become marketing sleuths, and why? It's certainly not because we are greedy and chasing a profit - though making an income off our passion is obviously a goal for many of us. It's because we so urgently want our works to become a part of someone else's life. Yes, we write for our own fulfillment, but moreover, we write so we can share our inner worlds.

So as the fascicle, fake and fucked universe that is social media engulfs great and not-so-great writers alike, a thought was born - why is promotion of our work such a taboo? Or equally, why is promotion so incredibly unaffordable and out of reach for most?

We mention our book title on a thread, and boom, deleted. We seek attention and eyes on our work, it makes us seem desperate. We ask friends and family for support, and we're taking advantage. It is not the way forward.

So instead of whinging about it, why not do something about it? And that's where The FTN Platform began its journey.

The FTN Platform is designed to be a place where self promotion isn't just allowed, it's absolutely fucking encouraged.

We WANT authors to promote their works.

We want to be a platform of no-shame promotion, we want to be a platform where not only can you market your books, but also be incentivized to actively engage in the community and buy other user's books too. Kind of like an 'I scratch your back, you scratch mine' economy.

The FTN platform is one built on principals of authentic engagement and encouragement, a community of like-minded souls all wishing, and actively pursuing, success for the whole, not just for the individual.

Through our beloved  MUNKEYS, the FTN Platform empowers authors to promote not only their work, but others' work as well. Buy a book, be rewarded. Give a review, be rewarded. Offer a service, be rewarded.

And now you're here too. So get involved, promote your work, and feel good getting off the social media merry-go-round.

FTN is here. And you're writing career just leveled up.

So fuck the noise... Just write!

Yours,
