So how's it all work?

FTN isn't just a place to promote your book - it's a place to support our thriving community of writers​ through our internal economy that encourages authentic, positive interactions.

We didn't just want a static platform where author's dump their book promo and never return. We wanted to create a Platform that generates it's own hype and momentum, a place where authors feel encouraged to return and promote again. The FTN Platform internal economy achieves just that, let's break it down.

1) MUNKEYS!

 

Let us introduce our beloved Munkeys! These little guys are the heartbeat of FTN - they want you  to succeed in your artistic endeavours and will do anything to get you a sale or new lead. So, we decided everyone needed a Munkey in their life - so we gift every new user with one free Munkey! This Munkey allows all new users to immediately promote their book for free - no strings attached.

In a world of exorbitant asking prices for book promotions, we are giving you something for nothing - literally. Just sign up to the FTN Platform, claim your free Munkey and start generating those sales!

2) MANDARINS!

The FTN Platform is pleased to present your soon-to-be favourite fruit of abundance - the humble Mandarin! We don't see mandarins as just a delicious citrus treat - no, to us, they are much much more. Around these parts, Mandarins are basically a token of appreciation but with a much larger scope.

Like someone's book cover? Chuck 'em a Mandarin.

Enjoyed someone's plot premise? Chuck 'em a Mandarin.

Read someone's lead magnet? Chuck 'em a Mandarin.

So, Mandarins are just 'likes'? No, we don't do popularity contests. Mandarins are a way for authors to receive immediate and concise market feedback. For every Mandarin you gift, you get the opportunity to leave the author a short, targeted and direct message of support. For example:
 

- "Great cover! It really intrigues potential readers."

- "Your premise is solid, I hope it delivers as promised."
- "This free book chapter really drew me in, I'm off to buy the book right now!"

As FTN grows, we will be implementing further ways to utilise Mandarins. For now though, consider them a quick way to gather some free market feedback, and encourage other authors in the FTN Community.

3) NOTICEBOARD!

Another new concept in FTN is the Community Noticeboard. Consider the noticeboard your digital equivalent of handing out flyers. Want to give back to the community and hone your skills (and maybe earn a Munkey or two), then post your service here! Users can respond to your digital flyer and get in contact. What kind of services?

As our community grows, so too does our collective expertise and skill set. The Noticeboard will act as a hub for the gifting and trading of services, for those who want to give back to the community simply because they can.
